LIFE & DEATH
This is a great picture created in the year 1916 by Gustav Klimt, who was an Austrian Symbolist painter and one of the most prominent members of the Vienna Secession movement. It’s made with oil on canvas and it’s 178 x 198 cm long. I chose this Klimt’s work, because I like the colours, the melancholic mood and the theme, which is actual at any time and is very truthfully caught up. Death shouldn’t be understood here as a depressiv item, but, as you can see on the people’s faces, as a normal fact which happens every day. There is no fear but conciliation. Life is on the other side of the picture. It’s made of different symbols, colours and it shows perfectly how difficult life can be.
